Use Invoist from ChatGPT and Claude

Connect your Invoist account once, then ask your assistant to draft invoices, log time and expenses, or tell you what's still unpaid. Invoist works out the totals and keeps the records.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Connect once

    Add Invoist to ChatGPT or Claude and sign in with your normal Invoist login. You approve what the assistant can do.

  2. Step 2

    Ask in your own words

    Describe the work, like "invoice Acme for this month's hours". Your assistant finds the client, the hours and the rates in Invoist.

  3. Step 3

    Review and send in Invoist

    New invoices are saved as drafts with the totals worked out. You check each one and send it yourself.

Plugin in the ChatGPT directory

Invoist is a published ChatGPT plugin. Install it once and ChatGPT can create and edit invoice drafts, log time and expenses, record payments and summarize what you've invoiced.

How to connect

  1. 1 Open Invoist in the ChatGPT plugin directory and choose to add it.
  2. 2 Sign in with your normal Invoist login and approve access.
  3. 3 Start a chat and ask, for example: "Invoice Acme Studio for my unbilled hours this month."

Custom connector

Invoist works in Claude, on claude.ai and in Claude Code. Until Invoist is listed in Claude's connector directory, you add it as a custom connector with its server URL.

How to connect

  1. 1 On claude.ai, go to Customize → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. 2 Enter the server URL https://invoist.app/mcp, then connect and sign in with your normal Invoist login.
  3. 3 Ask Claude, for example: "How much have I invoiced this year, and how much is still outstanding?"

You stay in control

Your assistant saves drafts. It never emails your clients, takes payments or changes sent or paid invoices, and it asks before deleting anything.

Invoist works with ChatGPT and Claude on Free, with unlimited invoices. On Pro, you can also ask about your stays and residency days.

  • Invoice Acme Studio for my unbilled hours this month, with 10% tax.
  • How much have I invoiced this year, and how much is still outstanding?
  • Add Riverstone Labs as a client: ap@riverstone.example, Keizersgracht 123, Amsterdam.
  • Change the due date on my latest draft to the 30th and add a line for hosting, $45.
