Describe the work, and Claude saves a draft invoice in your Invoist account with the totals worked out.
Claude can look up, add, edit and delete your clients, invoice drafts and expenses; log time and turn unbilled hours into invoices; record payments you've received; summarize what you've invoiced and what's still outstanding, in one currency if you like; change your invoice settings; and, on Pro, log your stays and check your residency days and limits (estimates, not legal or tax advice).
On claude.ai, go to Customize → Connectors, choose Add custom connector and enter the server URL https://invoist.app/mcp. Then connect it, sign in with your normal Invoist login and approve access. On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner adds the connector for the organization first, and each member then connects their own account. The Free plan of Claude allows one custom connector.
In your terminal, run claude mcp add --transport http invoist https://invoist.app/mcp. Then run /mcp inside Claude Code, choose invoist and sign in with your normal Invoist login in the browser window that opens. The approval screen says the app runs on your computer: allow it only if you started the connection yourself.
You see what Claude will be allowed to do on the approval screen when you connect. New invoices are saved as drafts, and you review and send each one yourself in Invoist. Claude can't send invoices, email clients, or take or move money, and it can't edit or delete sent or paid invoices. Recording a payment only marks an invoice as paid, for your records. Business details you change in invoice settings also appear on invoices you've already sent. Edits and deletions are marked so that Claude asks you first, unless you've told it to stop asking.
Invoist for Claude works on every Invoist plan, including Free. Creating invoices is free and unlimited, just as it is in Invoist. Pro features stay Pro, as shown on our pricing page.
When you ask about clients, invoices, tracked time, expenses or stays, Invoist sends the details Claude needs to Anthropic, which handles them under its own terms; your Claude plan and privacy settings decide whether conversations help train Anthropic's models. Invoist records which tools were used and whether they worked, never your messages or invoice contents. See our privacy policy.
Go to Settings → Connected apps in Invoist and choose Disconnect. Claude loses access straight away.
